The Paediatric Near Vision Test is designed to assess a child’s functional vision at near distances and help familiarise them with the vision testing process before introducing a distance vision test.

The double-sided chart features proportionally spaced (logMAR) lines on one side and more tightly spaced symbols on the opposite side. Visual acuity levels range from 20/400 to 20/10 (6/120 to 6/3), equivalent to 0.05 to 2.00.

Response keys are printed on both sides of the chart for convenient use during testing. The test also includes flashcards and instructions to support an easy and consistent assessment.
